Stella Systems is proud to announce their appointment as Australian and NZ distributors of TRAC Ecological Marine Products
Waterwitch is an Australian, family owned company that manufactures custom built, reverse osmosis desalination plants, sometimes referred to as watermakers. They combine an arrangement of the highest quality, industry standard components, with work hardened technology, in a format that best complies with the practical and operational requirements of the future operator.
Waterwitch pride themselves not only on excellence in practical design but also on their units high standards of finish and appearance. They do not use low quality, "copy cat" components and construct plants in a wide variety of formats that often share the same basic components from leading manufacturers. Their designs reflect real "hands on" experience in the operation, design, construction, modification and maintenance of seawater desalination plants of many sizes, over a period of thirty years. Naturally, they feel well placed to advise prospective clients of their requirements.
As most of their existing clients are in remote areas all over the Indo-Pacific area and rely on 24/7 reliability of their machines for their business' survival, Waterwitch remain available seven days a week for technical support, a rare service in this industry.
Customers include Federal and State Government marine departments, large recreational and professional diving companies, long range professional fishing vessels, research vessels, remote tourist resorts, ocean aquaculture hatcheries, major ship-yards and many large private boats.
Waterwitch also constructs other forms of water treatment equipment and supplies a wide range of membranes, filters and activated carbon to water treatment industries such as analytical laboratories, bottled drinking water plants and local government departments.

Desalination plants are, in their experience, too often supplied as a generic, "one style suits all", plant with insufficient prior consideration given to the customer's specific needs and expectations. Most land-based desalination plants have unique characteristics that are derived from their location and the needs of the facility dependant upon the potable water produced by the plant. Many sea-going plants must be specifically designed to fit into the available space of existing vessels.
Waterwitch strongly advises prospective clients to consider purchasing simple, robust, easily understood desalination plants that utilise a minimum of individual components with only high quality, industrial standard components used. This design ethic always pays off in reduced maintenance, therefore lower running costs, and negates enforced dependance on the manufacturer for specialised information and components only available from the manufacturer. Waterwitch do not produce the lowest priced watermakers available but then again they do not produce the most expensive either.
Seawater desalination is the core business of Waterwitch Marine Systems. Although they mainly build machines to suit individual customers needs, they do have some basic "standard" designs such as the stand alone 240VAC, 50Hz, Water Rat, which can be built in outputs of 1000-4000 litres per day. They also build 240VAC and 415VAC, 50Hz, modular plants that produce 1500-6000 litres per day using a remote control module incorporating all necessary electronic monitoring and control components. They can easily provide 110/220VAC, 60Hz equipment if required. Custom plants can be built to produce any amount of potable water, to suit virtually any available on board space within reason, whether it is a shipboard application, a charter boat or long range pleasure cruiser.
