Stella Systems is proud to announce their appointment as Australian and NZ distributors of TRAC Ecological Marine Products
A new concept in watermakers, one that works all the time, is easy to operate and doesn't break the bank. Simple, Reliable, Affordable?
OpenOcean Watermakers were established in 2001 in The Bay of Islands, New Zealand. They started with a very simple Engine Driven 70 litre per hour system that was designed to be the most reliable watermaker on the planet, bar none. From that success they designed a 240V Electric system with the same reliability issues in mind.
Since then they have added new models and options including Land Based and Custom models. In fact they can build just about any type of system you require. They keep circuit boards, fancy controls and silly flashing lights off their products to provide the most reliable watermaker in the world.
Features: Modular design can be mounted anywhere in the vessel. Electric 240V 50Hz or 110V 60Hz (Uses approx 10 amps @ 230V Standard). Industrial high pressure pump capable of running up to 3 membranes (one membrane = 70 litres per hour) suitable for vessels with generators.
Unlike other manufacturers they use 'off the shelf' parts that can be purchased world wide with the exception of the membrane housings, and they have a lifetime warranty with the original purchaser. As they are also cruisers they understand the frustration of breakdowns and getting parts in the third world. In the unlikely event of a part being needed they will get it to you fast!
Features: Modular design can be mounted anywhere in the vessel. Standard industrial high pressure pump capable of running up to 3 membranes, 70 to 210 litres per hour (one membrane = 70 litres) 12V clutch either above or below earth. Uses approx. 1.5 HP with one A section belt. Both watermakers operate with a simple 2 handle control panel. You start the unit, turn up the pressure, taste the water and divert to the storage tank. Simple! No circuit boards, timers or electronic probes to break, leaving you high and dry!
Many cruisers sail happily without a watermaker and don't mind lugging water from shore. They can also put up with poor quality water. OpenOcean believes that a watermaker will change your cruise from a camping trip to a great cruising experience. It allows you to shower and rinse off after swimming, wash clothes and wash your boat down after a passage.
OpenOcean systems use Reverse Osmosis to drive sea water through a membrane or super filter that removes the salt and produces beautiful clean fresh water.
The membrane cleans itself while it is running and you only have to clean the pre-filter and back flush the system after every use. This is simply turning one valve on the control panel for 90 seconds.
If you leave your boat unattended or do not use your watermaker for more than a week or so, you simply run a common steriliser through the system (one valve operation) and you can leave it for up to 10 months.
